About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Meet and exceed sales objectives in the assigned geography in accordance with company and regulatory standards
  • Understand and identify customer needs, aligning appropriate resources and pull-through activities
  • Acquire advanced product and disease-state knowledge for in-depth engagement with healthcare professionals
  • Promote Phathom’s first product to Gastroenterologists, Advanced Practice Practitioners, and select Primary Care Physicians
  • Work with peers, Regional Sales Managers, and commercial colleagues to achieve territory, regional, and corporate goals
  • Drive sales performance to meet or exceed sales goals
  • Engage Gastroenterologists, Primary Care Physicians, Advanced Practice Practitioners, and office staff with clinically focused messages
  • Introduce a new treatment option and address customer concerns
  • Build understanding of territory market dynamics and market access opportunities
  • Accelerate pull-through through communication with healthcare professionals and office staff
  • Develop territory business plans with the Regional Sales Manager and Strategic Account Specialists
  • Collaborate with peers, marketing, training, and sales operations to drive execution and share best practices
  • Manage administrative responsibilities, including CRM usage and expense reporting

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • One or more years pharmaceutical sales experience
  • Two years or more of successful medical sales experience (e.g., dental, medical device, laboratory, diagnostics) or demonstrated success in B2B sales or sales relevant fields of work
  • GI Specialty experience preferred
  • Proven and consistent track record of success in sales performance
  • Experience launching new products
  • Demonstrated success leveraging all resources (marketing, market access pull-through and technology solutions)
  • Proven business acumen and analytical expertise
  • Builds professional relationships with office staff and others in the customer network
  • Demonstrated success in both live and virtual interactions
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
  • Strong technical skills and computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint and digital meeting platforms including Veeva Engage, Teams, Zoom, etc.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Some territory overnight travel may be required depending on geography
  • Travel to national, regional, and corporate office may be required
