About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, analyze, and implement client administration applications for client identity management, registration, and scheduling
- Enhance existing applications across relevant organizational sites
- Ensure applications meet user needs and client identity management, registration data collection, and reporting standards
- Develop, maintain, and roll out tools supporting data collection, integrity, and integration
- Troubleshoot software applications and provide solutions to users
- Develop, maintain, and disseminate system and user documentation and communications
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications and detailed test plans
- Interface between operations departments and technical teams to support application functionality and architecture
- Liaise with registration, records management, finance, clinical, and other stakeholders to gather information and resolve registration issues
- Provide quality-related statistics and reporting to Registration Leadership
- Define business requirement changes associated with MOH, CIHI, MIS, PHSA, and Providence Health Care guidelines
- Provide subject matter expertise on client administration applications for process redesign and improvement
- Develop audit reports and tools to support patient demographic quality and security
- Analyze data quality issues, develop indicators, assess improvement opportunities, and make recommendations
- Compile and analyze system data, stakeholder feedback, regulatory requirements, policies, and industry best practices
- Provide end-user registration and scheduling support, troubleshoot incidents, and escalate technical issues
- Document workflows and process-analysis results and obtain sign-off
- Build relationships with IMITS Shared Services, Decision Support, Health Record Services, Finance, VCHA Client Identity Management, Provincial EMPI Registry Administration, and other resources
- Prepare reports, presentations, notices, and stakeholder communications
- Design and oversee system integration, user acceptance, regression, volume, and unit testing
- Perform post-implementation and quality improvement reviews
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management/Technology, Science (Finance, Mathematics, etc.) or Business Administration, minimum of three (3) years' recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of policy and standards for client identity management and client registration data collection
- Working knowledge of information security and confidentiality guidelines and policies, including the Freedom of Information and Protection and Privacy Act
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques, principles and practices
- Understanding of systems analysis and design, related tools and techniques, and continuous quality improvement
- Knowledge of hospital operations and health care administration requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication and business writing skills; ability to communicate technical information to varied audiences
- Ability to analyze operational problems and identify innovative solutions
- Ability to work with people from various disciplines and levels of functional and technical experience
- Ability to manage vendor and external organization relationships
- Interpersonal and facilitation skills; ability to work with a diverse user community
- Ability to coordinate and lead work groups
- Ability to manage work activities efficiently
- Ability to effectively utilize related hardware and software
- Skilled in Microsoft Office for Business
