About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work on a custom community platform for personal development, coaching, courses, community forums, and daily engagement
Work closely with the existing technical lead and take ownership of engineering delivery when needed
Coordinate development work, make technical decisions, resolve blockers, and ensure projects move forward
Own features from architecture and database design through development, testing, deployment, and production support
Develop across Vue.js, Nuxt, Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Prisma, and AWS, with a strong backend focus
Work with product, operations, and other departments to understand requirements and manage competing priorities
Estimate work, communicate progress, and deliver against tight deadlines
Use AI coding agents such as Claude Code and Cursor to accelerate development
Write instructions for AI tools, review generated code, identify mistakes, validate functionality, and ensure quality
Assess and improve platform security, scalability, performance, and reliability
Own technical QA, testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and release readiness
Review and validate work from external engineering partners and support technical knowledge transfer
Maintain integrations including Stripe Connect, LiveKit, Twilio, Zoom, Anthropic, and pgvector
Contribute to production AI architecture, including LLM integrations, RAG, and agents

Requirements

What you’ll need

8 to 12+ years of software engineering experience
Strong production experience in Vue.js, backend development, and relational database design
PostgreSQL preferred
Experience with Nuxt and Prisma is a plus
Proven experience leading engineering delivery and owning complex technical projects
Ability to make independent decisions and take responsibility for results
Ability to step in for an existing technical lead when needed
Experience managing multiple priorities and coordinating with different departments
Experience communicating with stakeholders and delivering work under tight deadlines
Proven experience using AI coding agents on production software
Experience directing AI tools, reviewing generated code, identifying errors, and validating results
Strong experience with backend architecture, APIs, databases, infrastructure, security, scalability, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support
Experience with LLM architecture, RAG, or AI agents is a strong plus
Highly organized and self-sufficient
Comfortable working in a startup environment with changing priorities
Ability to balance development speed, technical quality, and business needs
Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external engineering partners
