About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate post-trade lifecycle management across Standard Life plc entities for derivative and public market fixed income products
- Provide dedicated product support to Front Office functions, primarily the Asset Liability Management team
- Support trade execution, confirmation and post-trade activities
- Support Portfolio Implementation and Manager Oversight teams with operational input and guidance
- Ensure accurate and timely derivative data is stored in internal systems
- Coordinate activities among internal functions and outsourced service providers
- Oversee services provided by BlackRock Solutions through the Aladdin product suite
- Own derivative operational activities and resolve outstanding issues end-to-end
- Provide subject matter expertise on derivative trade capture
- Perform middle-office controls on direct derivative and public market fixed income trading
- Work with third-party providers to onboard new system capabilities and establish internal processes
- Support new instrument onboarding
- Develop processes and procedures aligned with policy standards
- Support regulatory requirements
- Support integration of new business lines from closed-book acquisitions, open-book and BPA activity
- Participate in process improvement, operating model enhancements and integration of legacy Standard Life risk carriers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience managing derivative and fixed income products from a middle office or back-office perspective
- Understanding of pre-trade governance, including strategy, investment guidelines and mandates
- Experience with execution and trade capture
- Experience with trade enrichment, validation, confirmations, transaction reporting, settlement and reconciliations
- Experience interacting with custodians, clearing brokers and trade counterparties
- Knowledge of regulatory considerations, including EMIR, TCF and Conduct of Business Rules
- Knowledge of the derivatives trade lifecycle, including ISDA/CSA and central clearing agreements
- Functional knowledge of end-to-end investment management technology, operating models, downstream consumers and value chains
- Practical experience with business transformation projects, including onboarding investment managers, products or portfolio restructurings
- Proficient use of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience using the Aladdin platform
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Experience investigating breaks, identifying root causes and improving data accuracy
- High attention to detail and control awareness
- Ability to lead and deliver process improvements in complex, high-volume environments
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and take ownership of outcomes
