About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build, maintain, enhance, and document Individual and Bulk Purchase Annuity cashflow and pricing models
- Contribute to modelling methodology decisions
- Apply models to Annuity Pricing, Valuation, Reinsurance & Structuring, Longevity Experience Analysis, and Solvency II Capital
- Develop and integrate services using AWS, Python, Rust, Beacon, and Snowflake for analytics and reporting
- Follow the defined software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Monitor, improve, and support platform performance
- Proactively identify and resolve issues to maintain reliability
- Understand Standard Life data, strategy, tooling, and workflows to maximize platform value
- Collaborate with engineers, portfolio managers, actuaries, structurers, and stakeholders
- Embed quantitative tools, reports, and applications that provide a single source of truth for analytics across asset management portfolios
Requirements
What you’ll need- University Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Actuarial Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field
- Ideally a Masters’ Degree or higher in a related field (desirable, not required)
- Product knowledge: Individual Annuities and Bulk Purchase Annuities
- Programming experience, e.g. Python
- Excellent problem solving within an analytical field
- Knowledge about Life Insurance: Solvency II, IFRS17
- Proactive, self-motivated and “get things done” attitude
- Comfortable using experience to challenge the status quo
- Strong analytical skills and ability to multi-task across platforms and multi-layer solutions
