About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead client discovery workshops
Gather functional and non-functional requirements
Produce High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs) for data centre and cloud infrastructure projects
Deploy, configure, and test VMware Cloud Foundation environments
Manage technical transition through operational readiness and handover
Provide objective technical guidance on infrastructure modernisation
Ensure deployed solutions align with clients’ operational and commercial goals
Support pre-sales by scoping new opportunities and providing product demonstrations
Engage with technical teams, project stakeholders, and senior leadership
Visit Phoenix HQ and customers occasionally
Participate in a two-stage interview process, including one online and one in-person interview

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven track record delivering complex infrastructure and Software-Defined Data Centre (SDDC) engagements within technical consultancy or senior enterprise delivery environments
Experience managing projects from initial discovery and design through implementation and completion
Strong hands-on expertise in designing, deploying, configuring, and optimising VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), VMware vSphere, and core SDDC infrastructure technologies
Practical experience implementing, configuring, and supporting VMware Aria Operations (vRealize Operations)
Deep understanding of infrastructure architecture, enterprise platforms, virtualisation, and datacentre transformation programmes
Experience with VMware lifecycle management, including upgrades, patching, certificate replacement, credential rotation, and operational maintenance
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to produce clear, high-quality technical documentation and solution designs
Knowledge of VMware NSX, Avi Advanced Load Balancer, and VMware Advanced Network & Security Services
Knowledge of VMware HCX, VMware Live Recovery, Site Recovery Manager (SRM), and vSphere Replication
Knowledge of vSphere with Tanzu, VMware Cloud Director (vCD), and Private AI with NVIDIA
Experience supporting hybrid cloud, migration, modernisation, and business continuity initiatives in enterprise-scale environments
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical leadership capabilities
Required to undertake and pass a Baseline Personal Security Standard (BPSS) check
