About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support Ansys software sales and expansion activities from lead generation through opportunity close within assigned accounts and geographic territory
  • Maximize sales profitability, revenue growth, and renewal success
  • Support established existing customers and develop new account sites
  • Sell products and services directly to end-user customers, primarily through face-to-face engagements
  • Collaborate with internal teammates and the Ansys Partner team
  • Perform sales activities for new and renewal business to achieve or exceed revenue objectives
  • Establish and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers
  • Secure license renewals and generate new software business for PADT
  • Develop account plans highlighting growth opportunities and follow-up tactics
  • Contact customers and prospects by phone and through face-to-face on-site visits while traveling throughout the assigned territory
  • Identify customer problems and key business initiatives and create ROI-based proposals and quotes
  • Research and compile prospective customer lists through leads, internet searches, periodicals, directories, industry ads, trade shows, and other sources
  • Maintain knowledge of PADT products and services to facilitate opportunity generation
  • Coordinate sales efforts with Sales Management, Accounting, Engineering Services, and Marketing
  • Support trade shows and conventions and schedule training and seminars
  • Update PADT SFDC and Ansys SFDC sales records
  • Accurately forecast new-business and renewal revenues and prepare territory and account sales reports

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or bachelor’s degree with technical sales experience
  • Minimum of 1 year software license and/or renewal sales experience with a proven track record of success
  • Demonstrated basic understanding of the industrial product development process, CAD, Design Analysis, PLM or Engineering Simulation marketspaces
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional written and oral communication skills
  • Visual presentation capabilities, including for executive level
  • Organizational skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and grow customer relationships
  • Prior success growing company revenue
  • Access to U.S. export-controlled information requires authorization for applicants who are not U.S. Persons, unless authorization is obtained from the U.S. Government
  • Preferred: demonstrated knowledge of Simulation (Ansys) products/services and software pricing practices
  • Preferred: track record of successful business transactions at industrial companies, including Automotive, Aerospace & Defense, and High Tech
  • Preferred: 2 years of field sales experience
