About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build deep command of PIMCO's investment process, portfolio positioning, and market outlook
  • Represent the investment team internally and serve as a resource for Account Managers and Client Management on assigned strategies
  • Own, alongside Portfolio Management and Marketing, product and client-service materials
  • Understand business, stakeholder, and client needs and articulate business value and product intent to internal leadership
  • Track competition and develop views on platform growth
  • Apply and help develop AI-powered tools to improve recurring workflow productivity and quality
  • Construct attribution, performance, and risk reporting showing portfolio positioning and performance drivers
  • Write market updates, portfolio commentary, and portfolio construction materials communicating PIMCO's investment views
  • Partner on RFPs and DDQs, drafting and reviewing accurate strategy content
  • Support sales and marketing initiatives, product development, portfolio analysis, and client communication for multi-sector fixed income strategies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering, applied science, or another related discipline
  • Zero to two years of relevant experience; internship experience in investment management or alternatives is preferred
  • Strong mathematical, quantitative, and analytical abilities, with a detail-oriented skill set
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; reasonable proficiency with Bloomberg preferred
  • Demonstrated curiosity and experience using new and emerging technologies and AI tools to solve problems and drive better outcomes
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Intellectual curiosity, high energy, and a self-starter mindset
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with all levels of personnel both internally and externally; strong team player
  • Enthusiasm for the financial markets, investing, and macroeconomics
  • Interest in pursuing the CFA designation (or active status in the program) a plus
