About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the global commercial transactions function and oversee attorneys and contract professionals
  • Negotiate high-value and complex customer and partner transactions, including SaaS subscriptions, software licenses, professional services, and strategic alliances
  • Build trust-based relationships with C-level and senior executives
  • Improve contract processes, templates, playbooks, and deal enablement
  • Use metrics to measure productivity, accelerate sales cycles, and manage legal risk
  • Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Customer Experience, Security, Product, Privacy, Regulatory and AI, and Legal Operations teams
  • Support alliances, channel, system integrator, reseller programs, and new market entries
  • Mentor, coach, and develop a global hybrid team
  • Advise on global risk allocation, regulatory implications, and contracting strategy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school (or equivalent international qualification)
  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 20+ years of legal experience focused on complex commercial and technology transactions
  • Significant in-house experience at a company with both on-prem and SaaS offerings and/or cybersecurity company is a plus
  • Deep understanding of cloud/SaaS contracting, software-to-SaaS agreements, data protection, AI regulatory frameworks, and enterprise sales environments
  • Ability to develop, mentor, and lead cross-cultural, global hybrid teams
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate effectively in a fast-paced global business
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and drafting skills
  • Strong attention to detail and business pragmatism
  • Experience using and implementing GenAI tools at scale
  • Experience training legal team members on GenAI productivity tools
  • Experience with contract management tools, playbooks, and/or scalable contracting frameworks
  • Collaborative, low-ego, “one team,” solutions-oriented mindset
