About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Autonomously negotiate a high volume of complex SaaS, AI, compute infrastructure, data processing, professional services and commercial transactions
- Lead legal support for enterprise-level cloud negotiations with AWS and other cloud service providers
- Advise on pricing structures, committed spend models, service descriptions, renewal terms, service levels, support, audit rights, termination and exit provisions
- Counsel the business on data security, data privacy, AI, intellectual property and commercial transaction risks
- Partner with Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Security and Privacy teams on cloud forecasting, budget alignment and strategic decisions
- Advise on uptime, business continuity, subcontracting, data use, compliance, portability and supplier accountability
- Operationalize commercial, financial and legal terms of cloud infrastructure agreements
- Track committed spend and renewal milestones and support reporting, audit and compliance requirements
- Evaluate alternative technologies, providers and contracting approaches
- Develop processes, playbooks and systems to scale Pinterest’s cloud and commercial contracting function globally
- Stay current with cloud contracting trends, licensing and consumption models, and industry best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- JD with minimum 8 years of experience in a legal environment
- Significant experience negotiating complex SaaS, cloud services, technology infrastructure and commercial transactions
- Minimum 2 years of in-house experience at a technology company preferred
- Deep experience negotiating cloud compute, SaaS, hosting, data processing, professional services and technology supplier agreements
- Knowledge of data privacy, data security, AI and general commercial risk
- Strong understanding of cloud computing business models, contracting structures and pricing frameworks
- Experience with consumption-based models, committed spend arrangements and enterprise technology agreements
- Experience partnering with Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Finance and Procurement stakeholders on high-value technology deals
- Experience translating negotiated contract terms into scalable internal processes and operational guidance
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical guidance
- Collaborative relationship-building and proactive problem-solving skills
