About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own and improve Pinterest’s internal compliance investigations program
  • Conduct and manage end-to-end compliance investigations
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Employment Legal, Human Resources, Finance, and Security teams
  • Advise on investigation outcomes and recommend remedial actions
  • Conduct root cause analysis and improve investigation procedures
  • Promote investigation best practices and maintain program materials
  • Mentor and oversee junior or contract investigators as needed
  • Identify and implement appropriate technology and AI use cases
  • Identify trends and themes to promote fairness in program application and outcomes
  • Prepare updates on investigations, trends, and learnings for stakeholders, senior management, compliance leadership, and the Board of Directors
  • Embed speak-up values into corporate culture and support compliance with global whistleblower laws and regulations
  • Support compliance disclosures, audit responses, law enforcement inquiries, subpoenas, and external investigations
  • Provide legal counsel on investigation-related and general compliance matters

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school
  • Experience at a top law firm and/or in-house legal and compliance department
  • 7 or more years of experience conducting complex and sensitive investigations
  • Must be admitted to the bar of at least one state with ability to provide legal services from state of residence
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong and clear verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional and cross-business teams at all levels
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize and manage a high-volume workload independently with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to adjust working hours as needed to support business needs
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in employment law (preferred)
  • Experience providing legal counsel on compliance issues, including conflicts of interest, third party audits and incident management (preferred)
  • Experience building compliance programs and effecting change management (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of effective compliance programs for a publicly-traded, global company (preferred)
