About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build cutting-edge technology using advances in deep learning and machine learning to personalize Pinterest
- Partner with teams across Pinterest to experiment with and improve ML models for Homefeed, Ads, Growth, Shopping, and Search
- Use data-driven methods and Pinterest’s data to improve candidate retrieval
- Work in a high-impact environment with rapid experimentation and product launches
- Keep up with industry trends in recommendation systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years of industry experience applying machine learning methods, including user modeling, personalization, recommender systems, search, ranking, natural language processing, reinforcement learning, or graph representation learning
- End-to-end hands-on experience building data processing pipelines, large-scale machine learning systems, and big data technologies such as Hadoop/Spark
- Degree in computer science, machine learning, statistics, or a related field
- Publications at top ML conferences (nice to have)
- Experience using Cursor, Copilot, Codex, or similar AI coding assistants (nice to have)
- Familiarity with LLM-powered productivity tools for documentation search, experiment analysis, SQL/data exploration, and engineering workflow acceleration (nice to have)
- Expertise in scalable real-time systems processing stream data (nice to have)
- MS/PhD in Computer Science, ML, NLP, Statistics, Information Sciences, a related field, or equivalent experience (nice to have)
