About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Shape the technical vision and multi-year roadmap for the Notifications & Growth Platform organization
- Align architecture and execution plans with Pinterest’s engagement and retention goals
- Lead cross-functional delivery of end-to-end notifications, in-app growth, and internationalized experiences
- Partner with Product, Data Science, Design, and engineering teams
- Make architectural decisions improving delivery quality, reliability, and scalability
- Improve orchestration, targeting hooks, scheduling, and multi-channel delivery systems
- Define success metrics and operating cadence, including engagement lift, delivery success, latency, reliability, cost, and adoption
- Drive measurable improvements aligned to organizational OKRs
- Use AI for exploration, drafting, analysis, and synthesis while maintaining rigorous validation and accountability
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful time as a Staff, Senior Staff, or equivalent-level IC building and operating complex production systems
- Demonstrated ability to use AI to improve speed and quality in day-to-day workflow
- Critical evaluation and verification of AI-assisted work, including testing, source-checking, data validation, and peer review
- High integrity and ownership, including protecting sensitive data and accountability for final decisions and deliverables
- Proven technical leadership driving architecture across multiple services/teams and delivering org-critical initiatives
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience
- Notifications and growth platform experience is a strong plus
- Ability to analyze data and identify opportunities to drive user growth is a strong plus
