About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop a deep understanding of Pinterest’s Trust and Safety platform and quantify funnel opportunities and risks
  • Lead projects addressing Trust and Safety opportunities across funnel stages
  • Design and productionize scalable machine-learning and evaluation frameworks for statistical measurement, product recommendation, and forecasting
  • Develop instrumentation and experimentation best practices for product engineering teams
  • Apply scientific rigor and statistical methods to product creation, development, and improvement
  • Build and iteratively prototype analysis pipelines that provide insights at scale
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of data structures and metrics and advocate for product-development changes
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, researchers, and other cross-functional partners
  • Communicate key insights and influence product development for Pinterest’s global community of pinners, creators, advertisers, and merchants
  • Help evolve Trust and Safety from reactive moderation and lagging harm reporting to a proactive, metrics-driven operating system

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 10 years of experience analyzing data in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
  • Proven ability to apply scientific methods to real-world problems using web-scale data
  • Extensive experience with Machine Learning, Statistical Modeling, Forecasting, Econometrics, or related fields
  • Scientifically rigorous approach to analysis and data
  • Ability to manipulate large, high-dimensional, complex data sets
  • Fluency in SQL or other database languages
  • Fluency in Python or R
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to explain learnings to technical and non-technical partners
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience
