About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and performance management for the Control Tower Specialists team
  • Establish priorities, workflows, and performance expectations for dispatch, track and trace, site communications, and exception management
  • Manage carrier and vendor performance, conduct performance reviews, lead corrective action conversations, and drive contractual compliance
  • Partner with corporate transportation and site leadership on network optimization, TMS enhancements, carrier sourcing, and new client implementations
  • Monitor and report transportation performance metrics, including on-time delivery, carrier compliance, and network service levels
  • Build relationships with Presort Operating Sites and Corporate Transportation and serve as the primary escalation point
  • Develop regular reporting on team KPIs, carrier compliance, SLA achievement, and exception trends
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and measure outcomes
  • Ensure TMS data accuracy, operational procedure adherence, and compliance
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning for the Control Tower team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least five (5) years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations
  • Minimum of two (2) years in a people leadership role
  • Ability to lead and develop teams in a centralized, fast-paced, real-time operations environment
  • Experience managing carrier relationships and holding external partners accountable to service commitments and performance standards
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional or corporate teams on strategic transportation initiatives
  • Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as Blue Yonder, Mercury Gate, or comparable platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience managing service level agreements and driving measurable performance improvement
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations, carrier management practices, and fleet operations
  • Familiarity with USPS mail processing, marketing mail logistics, or postal industry operations preferred
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
