About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Showcase Planar’s visual display technology solutions to the design community
  • Increase company market share and revenue from projects involving professional AV consultants and architects
  • Report to the General Manager - CAD Group
  • Work with senior-level customers and internal teams to understand AV consultant needs and preferences
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to generate sales from AV consultant-designed projects
  • Identify new growth opportunities related to Planar’s product portfolio
  • Establish and maintain relationships with AV consultants and architects
  • Develop partnerships and executive relationships to exchange business ideas and sales opportunities
  • Identify, qualify, and quantify business opportunities through industry consultants and architects
  • Collaborate with Operations, Research & Development, Marketing, and Sales teams to ensure superior service delivery and enablement plans
  • Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, adaptability, continuous improvement, and innovation
  • Review new business initiatives, programs, and operations to ensure performance standards
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Represent Planar externally with customers and participate in industry associations, trade groups, and vendor-organized events
  • Monitor current and anticipate future trends affecting Planar’s products and services
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through selling, fulfillment, and ongoing relationship management with major AV consulting firms

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Preferred bachelor’s degree required with 10+ years of AV selling experience and direct relationships in the AV consultant and architecture community
  • Demonstrated experience delivering content and technology solutions within the AV consultant community
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of Customer Relationship Management
  • Strong understanding of the consultant/architect community, market dynamics, and requirements
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced and changing market environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive, proactive, solutions-oriented leadership with strong communication and EQ skills
  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and appropriate vehicle insurance required
  • Strong knowledge of the Audio Visual and IT industry
  • Excellent business development and technical sales skills
  • Excellent follow-up skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based organization
  • Good computer skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities
  • Self-managed and able to operate independently
  • Willingness to travel 50% or more
