About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide overarching video strategy and creative vision for PPFA and PPAF
  • Ideate and produce on-brand videos supporting organizational and campaign goals
  • Execute video distribution strategies with content, digital, social, and paid media teams
  • Lead and provide thought partnership to video producers throughout project lifecycles
  • Support professional development of the internal video team
  • Serve as a video thought partner for PPFA and PPAF leaders
  • Maintain oversight of team video work and develop new video content formats
  • Oversee large-scale projects with production companies and internal producers
  • Direct short- and long-form video for social platforms, digital ads, broadcast, websites, special events, and campaigns
  • Work with leadership and stakeholders to articulate video strategy and support initiatives
  • Collaborate with Editorial, Creative, and Marketing teams on concepts, narratives, scripts, treatments, and animated, motion, and live-action storytelling
  • Manage conflicting priorities, project bandwidth, and deadlines
  • Collaborate across divisions, functions, and geographies
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities in vendor budgets and proposals
  • Develop video resourcing plans across workstreams and project teams
  • Ensure video outputs are strategically sound, responsibly produced, and within brand guidelines
  • Manage team capacity and output for rapid-response moments
  • Lead branded electoral video content during election cycles
  • Pitch video concepts and facilitate internal feedback sessions
  • Build and maintain a repository of production partners and creative vendors
  • Monitor video industry trends and bring relevant inspiration to the team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 12+ years of experience in a video leadership role
  • 7+ years managing a production team
  • Experience managing and inspiring video/production teams
  • Extensive experience creating treatments and telling stories within brand guidelines
  • Passion for storytelling, narrative arcs, branding, and creative
  • Detailed and organized thinking
  • Ability to lead ethical production standards, including trauma-informed interviewing protocols for vulnerable beneficiary populations
  • Strong portfolio of video work across media, with a digital engagement focus
  • Bachelor’s degree in cinematography, film, advertising, or a relevant field
  • Agency and/or non-profit federated model experience is a strong plus
