About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide hardware, software, and network technical assistance and support to PPIL users throughout Illinois
- Support PCs, laptops, hardware, software, printers, desk phone systems, mobile devices, headsets, peripherals, conference room systems, and online/cloud/SaaS systems
- Monitor and manage helpdesk tickets for timely and thorough responses
- Develop Knowledge Base content to improve self-service and IT responsiveness
- Work directly with non-IT personnel, including executive leadership
- Travel to PPIL Health Centers across Illinois to provide on-site support
- Support live meetings, virtual meeting technologies, and events
- Provide staff-facing cybersecurity and IT-environment training
- Install, deploy, debug, update, configure, troubleshoot, and train users on IT systems
- Develop and maintain scripts to automate tasks and improve quality and consistency
- Manage endpoint-management and mobile-device-management tools
- Perform inventory and auditing to confirm a consistent and correct environment
- Help ensure compliance with PPIL regulatory obligations
- Support and improve cybersecurity and system hardening
- Investigate and recommend process, policy, configuration, and tooling improvements
- Support IT strategic planning and budgeting efforts
- Provide after-hours and weekend support when needed
- Remain informed about PPIL protocols, policies, procedures, and core values
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional work experience
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience in PC/laptop management, troubleshooting, and/or helpdesk support using a ticketing system
- Strong knowledge of Windows 11
- Experience managing mid-size (150+ endpoints) Windows environments over time
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Experience managing accounts in MS Entra ID (aka Azure AD) and Exchange Online
- Must have own vehicle and be willing and able to drive to downstate Health Centers
- Ability to provide after-hours and weekend support when needed
- Experience with clinical/healthcare environments, EPIC or similar, HIPAA compliance, cybersecurity/hardening, EDR/XDR, MSP/MSSP, Intune, MDM, ConnectWise, scripting, infrastructure/network monitoring, asset management, NIST/CIS compliance, license/lifecycle management, meeting room systems, ransomware/phishing response, backup management, disaster recovery, incident response, VPN configuration, budgeting, or email defense systems is a plus
