About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure continued SOC 2 compliance, including developing cybersecurity policies, preparing for audits, maintaining evidence, and addressing gaps
  • Proactively identify vulnerabilities through internal and third-party risk assessments and mitigate security risks
  • Administer and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, cloud environments, and mobile devices
  • Secure devices with endpoint protection
  • Manage user identity and access control systems
  • Oversee software updates, patch management, and system configurations to minimize vulnerabilities
  • Implement reliable, scalable networking solutions, including firewalls, switches, VPNs, and Wi-Fi access points, across sequencing labs around the world
  • Lead projects independently from idea to production
  • Enable the company’s sequencing laboratories to operate securely and reliably

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS in Computer Science, or relevant work experience
  • 6+ years as an IT administrator at a high growth startup environment
  • Experience with SOC 2 or ISO 27001
  • Computer system administration for macOS, Windows, and Linux
  • Google Workspace administration
  • Experience with MDM/IdP platform (Rippling) and endpoint protection (SentinelOne)
  • Experience configuring network infrastructure, preferably Mikrotik and pfSense
  • Server management for Linux-based on-prem compute environments
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity and data security best practices, including ISMS frameworks
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
