About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and build services, data models, and interfaces that scale with product and traffic growth
Own production systems, including performance, reliability, cost, and recovery from failures
Understand customer and internal-team business problems, translate them into features, and measure outcomes
Make defensible architecture decisions and avoid complexity without sufficient value
Use AI and LLMs to accelerate design, implementation, and review while rigorously reviewing generated output
Improve engineering standards through code review and decisions that prevent problems early
Build and own systems used by companies to train their teams through Platzi’s B2B business
Report to the Engineering Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 5 years shipping and operating software in production, with real depth in system design
Strong fundamentals in data modeling, APIs, performance, concurrency, and failure modes
Experience building B2B / SaaS products
Ownership of a system through real scale or a migration, with ability to explain what would be done differently
Ability to weigh technical decisions against business needs and explain tradeoffs to non-technical people
Fluent English and Spanish
Experience working directly with customers or near commercial, customer success, or support teams (nice to have)
Experience building products on top of LLMs (nice to have)
