About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the architecture and evolution of the frontend UX platform
- Develop shared components, design system foundations, and developer tooling
- Build product experiences and reusable infrastructure with TypeScript and React
- Work across the stack with Python and FastAPI to design and integrate APIs
- Establish standards for accessibility, performance, testing, and frontend maintainability
- Partner with design, product, and engineering teams to turn complex workflows into intuitive interfaces
- Mentor engineers, review technical designs, and drive improvements across teams
- Shape the foundations of Plenful’s product experience and make other engineers more effective
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with substantial experience building frontend applications at scale
- Strong, hands-on knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and React
- Track record of leading frontend architecture or platform work across multiple teams
- Sound judgment about creating shared abstractions and maintaining their usefulness as a product grows
- Experience collaborating closely with designers and product partners on user-facing work
- Clear communication skills and ability to lead through code and technical guidance
- Preferred: experience with Python and FastAPI
- Preferred: experience working at a health-tech startup
- Preferred: familiarity with FHIR and HL7
- Candidates must be based in the San Francisco or Seattle area
- Must be authorized to work in the job location
