About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Source and qualify new prospects across the B2B travel space, including OTAs, travel operators, and B2B travel marketplaces
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through negotiation and closing
  • Tailor outreach and messaging to travel-specific payment delays, reconciliation, fraud risk, and chargebacks
  • Represent Pliant at industry events, networking opportunities, and client meetings
  • Advocate for Pliant’s vision and technology within the UK
  • Monitor developments in the UK fintech and travel landscape, competitor offerings, and customer needs
  • Provide market insights and recommendations for product enhancements and go-to-market strategies
  • Lead UK expansion and help define local strategy and market-specific product direction
  • Collaborate with sales, growth, RevOps, commercial, and product teams
  • Report progress, insights, and results to senior management
  • Support travel-industry go-to-market campaigns, events, case studies, and co-marketing with Marketing

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of sales or business development experience with clients in the travel industry or adjacent verticals such as hospitality tech, payments, or B2B platforms
  • High interest in financial technology, credit, lending, and B2B payments
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience launching and scaling products or services in new markets, ideally within the UK
  • Strategic thinking and hands-on problem-solving approach
  • Familiarity with CRMs such as HubSpot and Salesforce
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies such as SPIN, MEDDIC, or Challenger
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • UK or EU residency, as indicated by the application question
