About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own and grow assigned group segments, including entertainment and film/production
  • Take full ownership of the hotel’s transient consortia business, including account development, relationship management, and identifying opportunities to grow production
  • Prospect and develop new business across assigned segments
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified opportunities
  • Respond to inbound leads and qualify opportunities
  • Conduct site tours
  • Prepare proposals and contracts
  • Negotiate rates and terms
  • Convert inquiries into booked business
  • Manage accounts throughout the sales cycle
  • Build relationships with planners, production contacts, travel advisors, consortia partners, and other key accounts
  • Partner with the Director of Sales on sales strategy, account development, need periods, market opportunities, and revenue goals
  • Work with the Events Coordinator and property teams to transition contracted group business into planning and execution
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, account activity, pipeline reporting, and sales performance metrics
  • Conduct sales calls, client meetings, site tours, and property visits as needed
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, networking events, and client-facing opportunities
  • Collaborate with Revenue Management and property leadership on pricing, availability, account strategy, and revenue growth
  • Report to the Director of Sales

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years of hotel sales experience
  • Experience prospecting, managing, and converting group business
  • Experience within entertainment and film/production sales is a plus
  • Experience with consortia or other transient sales accounts is preferred
  • Strong prospecting and relationship-building skills
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle, including lead qualification, proposals, contracts, negotiations, and closing
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple accounts, leads, and priorities simultaneously
  • Proficiency with CRM and hotel sales systems, or ability to learn them quickly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with the Director of Sales and property team
  • Ability to travel to the property as needed for site tours, client visits, events, and other sales-related needs
  • Candidates within driving distance of Twentynine Palms are preferred
  • Familiarity with the Joshua Tree/Twentynine Palms market or a similar destination market is a plus
  • Ability to accommodate varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to move greater than 50% of the time as required
