About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the overall client experience and outcomes to build and maintain long-lasting relationships
- Monitor client contracts for compliance and participate in base contract and contract modification negotiations
- Manage contract-defined processes and resolve challenges and issues
- Handle the highest-volume, highest-visibility, and most complex clients
- Supervise day-to-day operations of the entire Account Management team
- Oversee identification and development of new servicing opportunities with existing clients
- Advise customers on appropriate products, services, rates, and other opportunities
- Serve as the highest escalation point for critical issues
- Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to the Account Management team
- Recommend and implement improvements, connecting strategy to business outcomes
- Provide performance reports to leadership
- Work with in-house counsel and clients on contract negotiations and review servicing agreements
- Identify customization needs and coordinate decisions and implementation with service partners and the team
- Manage and maintain internal and external service-partner relationships
- Align and oversee development of the Account Management team, including supervisors and individual contributors
- Serve as an escalation point for high-severity requests or issues and identify solutions that maintain positive client relationships
- Develop and empower future leaders through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning
- Lead teams through organizational change and drive innovation and continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- University / college degree typically required for roles at this level; Bachelor's listed under Education
- 8+ years of industry experience typically required
- At least 5 years of prior management experience typically required
- Comparable combination of education, job-specific certification(s), and experience, including military service, may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Knowledge and skills in Account Management, Client Counseling, Competitive Advantages, Go-to-Market Strategies, Influencing Skills, Negotiation, Relationship Building, and Sales Operations
- Competencies in Account Management, Customer Relationship Management Applications, Customer Support Policies, Standards and Procedures, Decision Making and Critical Thinking, Effective Communications, Flexibility and Adaptability, Managing Multiple Priorities, Negotiating, and Problem Management Process
