About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform monthly close activities and variance analysis for multiple entities
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
- Conduct accounting system research and support departmental projects
- Prepare corporate reporting packages and ad hoc financial reports
- Partner with business stakeholders and provide customer service
- Respond to inquiries from Line of Business Operations teams
- Support special projects and process improvement initiatives
- Prepare, analyze, and maintain financial activity records in accordance with GAAP, organizational standards, and Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
- Create and evaluate financial performance reports for internal and external use
- Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, audit work papers, and account reconciliations
- Support and assist junior accounting staff in developing their professional skills
- Manage risks associated with business objectives and activities in accordance with PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Two or more years of accounting experience preferred
- CPA or active pursuit of a CPA designation preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Experience with the general ledger, including account reconciliations and journal entries
- Advanced Excel skills, including analyzing financial data and working efficiently with large datasets
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comparable combination of education, job-specific certification(s), and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- No employment visa sponsorship or STEM OPT participation
