About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and manage trading strategy and execution for select capital markets products
  • Make markets in designated customer products and manage portfolio risk
  • Enforce compliance with risk and regulatory requirements
  • Potentially manage a team of traders
  • Develop and execute trading and hedging strategies with traders, sales, relationship managers, and investment bankers
  • Maintain relationships with buyers and sellers
  • Drive accountability for business results and provide training, coaching, development, and mentoring
  • Identify relative value opportunities and make markets
  • Monitor market conditions and manage risk across trading portfolios
  • Develop comprehensive capital markets selling strategies to maximize revenue and new business activity
  • Focus market/product coverage efforts and ensure appropriate resource allocation
  • Monitor trading activities, industry and market developments, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop or modify relevant policies and guidelines with stakeholders
  • Provide coaching to team members
  • Support strategic growth and profitability of the Agency CMO and mortgage derivatives platform
  • Develop relationships with institutional clients and market counterparties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University / college degree typically required; Bachelor's education listed
  • Typically 8+ years of industry experience
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job-specific certification(s), and experience may be considered
  • Deep expertise in Agency CMOs, structured mortgage products, and mortgage/interest-rate derivatives
  • Track record of risk management, business growth, and strategic execution
  • Knowledge of business development, corporate finance, credit risk analysis, financial derivatives, interest rates, investments, and trading strategies
  • Competence in decision making, critical thinking, financial analysis, financial engineering, financial services, investment-bank quantitative analysis, customer knowledge, and trading
  • Series 7 and 63, or ability to obtain SIE, Series 7 and 63 within 120 days of hire
  • No employment visa sponsorship or STEM OPT participation
  • Must satisfy applicable FDIA, SAFE Act, and/or FINRA requirements
