About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform analytical tasks on vast amounts of structured and unstructured data to extract actionable business insights
- Participate in data gathering, processing, and mining of large and complex datasets
- Develop algorithms using advanced mathematical and statistical techniques, including machine learning, to predict business outcomes and recommend optimal actions
- Run analytical experiments to identify opportunities for product and process optimization
- Assist in presenting business insights to management using visualization technologies and data storytelling
- Partner with Data Architects, Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Visualization Experts to develop data-driven business solutions
- Expand existing production modeling frameworks
- Collaborate with risk, strategy, analytics, and business teams
- Manage risks associated with business objectives and activities in accordance with PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
- 2–3 years of professional experience in data science, predictive analytics, statistical modeling, machine learning, or quantitative analysis
- Experience developing and implementing predictive models using large datasets
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and model performance evaluation
- Experience building and validating credit risk, retail banking, or customer analytics models
- Proficiency in Python, R, or SAS
- Experience with PySpark, R Shiny, or SQL
- Experience with large-scale data environments and big data technologies, including Teradata, Hadoop, AWS, Impala, Hive, or Trino
- Experience with relational database platforms such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or TOAD
- Experience using GitHub or other version control platforms
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical findings for non-technical audiences
- No employment visa sponsorship or STEM OPT
- Comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
