About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee development, testing, and validation of machine-learning and statistical fraud detection and deterrence models
  • Conduct model testing, monitoring, defect resolution, and lifecycle analysis
  • Communicate with and support model users, downstream model owners, oversight, validation, risk management, internal audit, external audit, and regulatory compliance partners
  • Assess model theory, design, implementation, data quality, and data integrity
  • Review model documentation, monitoring, quality-control findings, and model controls
  • Evaluate model risks, defects, issues, strengths, limitations, and enhancement opportunities
  • Provide leadership and oversight to model developers, including remote and offshore developers
  • Coach, train, and provide best practices to the modeling team
  • Solve business problems using structured, analytically rigorous approaches and present results to less technical audiences and senior management
  • Provide financial and regulatory reporting and analyses
  • Run complex business performance, risk, and operational analytics
  • Develop analytical methods and models for market, credit, and operational risk
  • Analyze large datasets to improve risk-adjusted returns, growth, lending decisions, risk management, revenue, and performance
  • Develop segmentation and targeting for acquisition and portfolio strategies
  • Manage internal and external information-supplier engagements and governance
  • Design, develop, and monitor test designs and analytical reporting
  • Design and enhance standard reporting suites for product and portfolio reviews
  • Collaborate with business, credit, data, model development, Finance, and Risk partners on risk appetite, policies, and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Python or R proficiency required
  • Hadoop proficiency required
  • SQL proficiency and experience working with large datasets required
  • Solid understanding of probability, linear algebra, and statistical modeling
  • Experience with statistical modeling and validation
  • Data science, statistics, and data analytics knowledge
  • Graph Database experience
  • Data correlation and visualization knowledge
  • University/college degree, typically a bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of industry-relevant experience
  • Comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Trillium and/or Tableau desirable but not required
  • Knowledge of data management desired but not required
  • No required certifications or licenses
  • No required or preferred language assessments
  • Must not require employment visa sponsorship; PNC will not provide sponsorship or participate in STEM OPT
