About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, build, and maintain high-transaction distributed RESTful APIs and microservices
  • Apply object-oriented analysis and design
  • Develop Java-based solutions using Spring Boot, Spring JPA, Spring Batch, and related frameworks
  • Support releases and incidents after hours or on weekends, typically once per month
  • Use Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
  • Work with event-driven architecture using Kafka/MQ
  • Manage and troubleshoot applications using Kubernetes/OpenShift and cloud-based container platforms
  • Work with Oracle/SQL/MySQL, Redis, and Hibernate/ORMs
  • Implement unit testing and code quality controls using Spock/JUnit and SonarQube
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
  • Use Dynatrace and Logscale for debugging and monitoring
  • Contribute to customer-focused solutions and manage risks under PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Knowledge in object-oriented analysis and design
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining high-transaction distributed RESTful APIs and microservices
  • Strong hands-on Java experience, preferably Java 11+ / Java 17
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Strong working experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
  • Knowledge of event-driven architecture using Kafka/MQ
  • Experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift and/or other cloud-based container management platforms
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms
  • Proficiency in Oracle, SQL/MySQL, Redis, and Hibernate/ORMs
  • Hands-on experience with Spock/JUnit and SonarQube
  • Advanced understanding of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
  • Strong working knowledge of Dynatrace and Logscale monitoring tools
  • Knowledge of Java-based microservices frameworks, including Spring Boot, Spring JPA, and Spring Batch
  • Experience with Gradle and/or Maven
  • 5+ years of industry-relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience, including military service, may be considered
  • Must be eligible to work without employment visa sponsorship; PNC will not provide sponsorship or participate in STEM OPT
