About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish the long-term vision, strategic direction, and roadmap for containerized infrastructure and Kubernetes services
- Align container strategy with scalability, reliability, cost efficiency, and organizational objectives
- Identify platform enhancement and innovation opportunities
- Oversee product development and collaborate with engineering to convert market requirements into technical specifications
- Ensure developer usability through self-service options, APIs, and clear documentation
- Promote platform adoption among engineering teams and mentor and guide engineers
- Represent customers, study industry trends, and inform product development and adoption
- Oversee product metrics to improve performance, usability, and reliability of containerized workloads
- Develop standards for Kubernetes and container orchestration systems
- Establish best practices for CI/CD pipelines, microservices deployment, observability, logging, monitoring, and tracing
- Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, scalability, security, compliance, and adherence to enterprise standards
- Optimize cluster efficiency, resource management, system performance, reliability, and on-premises/cloud costs
- Own product vision and definition and serve as the voice of the customer
- Prioritize Scrum Team efforts based on business value and maintain strategic focus
- Oversee end-to-end development and go-to-market approach
- Address client/customer needs and ensure value delivery
- Mitigate risks and resolve product backlog issues
- Negotiate with vendors and outside consultants
- Drive efficiency and P&L value throughout the product lifecycle
- Act as lead decision maker and manage the crew
- Communicate business value and iteration outcomes to stakeholders, clients, senior leadership, and executive leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred
- 7–10 years of relevant Product Management, Product Owner, or Architecture/Software Engineer experience in an agile software product development environment preferred
- 10+ years of relevant Product Management or Product Owner experience in cloud, infrastructure, or platform engineering domains preferred
- Experience in Agile software development environments, preferably with developer platform products
- Strong background in Kubernetes, container orchestration, and DevOps tooling such as Helm, ArgoCD, Jenkins, and GitOps
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenShift, and bare-metal Kubernetes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes cluster architecture, workload orchestration, networking, RBAC, and security best practices
- Hands-on knowledge of hybrid- and multi-cloud environments and integrating Kubernetes with enterprise systems
- Deep experience with Agile methodologies and backlog/project management tools such as Jira, Rally, and ADO
- Kubernetes certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or CKS strongly preferred
- CSPO or SAFe POPM preferred
- Cloud certifications are a plus
- No employment visa sponsorship or STEM OPT participation
- Work experience is typically 8+ years; a comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
