About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead complex Field Examinations on existing borrowers
Assist with Field Examinations led by other examiners
Perform independent analysis of borrowers’ collateral records and financial reports
Determine and assess collateral values securing loans and identify collateral weakness or deterioration
Evaluate accounting system controls, data integrity, managerial control oversight, and borrower accounting personnel
Verify collateral reporting and management comply with loan-document terms and conditions
Prepare complex Field Examination reports and supporting workpapers
Highlight significant findings, material variances, conclusions, and recommendations for improvement
Communicate and escalate significant exam findings, concerns, delays, or borrower limitations to lending and credit personnel
Participate in meetings with Relationship Managers, deal teams, and borrower representatives
Confirm proper reporting of collateral on Borrowing Base Certificates
Ensure Borrowing Base compliance with Loan Approval terms and conditions
Manage the due diligence process when leading an examination
Direct daily fieldwork performed by assigned Field Examiners
Ensure assignments and duties are completed accurately and timely
Train junior and new Field Examiners
Evaluate junior/new Field Examiners’ progress and report to the Recurring Business Regional Field Examination Manager
Demonstrate customer focus and manage risks in accordance with PNC’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 5+ years of ABL Field Exam experience
Familiarity with corporate accounting through coursework and/or job experience
Advanced Excel skills
University / college degree typically required, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience
In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job-specific certification(s), and experience, including military service, may be considered
Bachelor's degree listed under Education
No required certifications
No required licenses
No required or preferred language assessments
Must be able to work from a quiet, secure, and confidential home-based workspace if approved for remote work
