About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide financial and regulatory reporting and analyses to maintain adequate controls over reporting processes
- Run complex business performance, risk, and operational analytics
- Develop analytical methods/models to assess market, credit, and operational risk of financial products
- Analyze large datasets to improve risk-adjusted returns, deliver profitable growth, and communicate conclusions
- Develop, recommend, and implement business strategies that improve lending decisions, manage risk, increase revenues, reduce loss exposure, meet business goals, and improve performance
- Establish strategy baselines and track actual performance against expectations
- Apply predictive models, third-party data, and other tools for segmentation and targeting in acquisition and portfolio strategies
- Provide insight into portfolio risk
- Manage engagements with internal and external information suppliers while maintaining governance and oversight
- Work with business, credit, data, and model development partners to design, develop, and monitor test designs and analytical reporting
- Design and enhance standard reporting suites for regular product and portfolio reviews
- Collaborate with line-of-business, Finance, and Risk partners to assess and establish credit risk appetite
- Establish policies and procedures governing identification, monitoring, and management of risk appetite
- Partner with business stakeholders, data teams, and application development teams to integrate required data elements into Risk applications
- Lead requirements definition sessions and document functional specifications
- Drive onboarding of newly identified data sources into Risk applications
- Triage data issues and discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and drive resolution
- Identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
Requirements
What you’ll need- University / college degree, typically a bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience
- In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience, including military service, may be considered
- Strong working knowledge of banking data ecosystems, systems of record, data flows, and data capture, transformation, and consumption
- Ability to understand relationships across multiple data sources and align them with business definitions and reporting needs
- Experience analyzing applications, code logic, and data pipelines
- Ability to trace data lineage from source systems through business processes and reporting solutions
- Advanced proficiency in SQL
- Working knowledge of Python or a similar language is a strong plus
- Experience interpreting complex queries, stored procedures, views, and ETL processes
- Ability to deconstruct technical solutions and document data flows, business logic, and system dependencies
- Ability to gather, clarify, and document business requirements
- Ability to translate technical findings into business requirements and implementation plans
- Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Detail-oriented approach with commitment to data quality, accuracy, and governance
- No required certifications or licenses
