About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the Third-Party Technology Risk function and a team of technology risk professionals
  • Set strategy, priorities, standards, methodology, thresholds, and operating model for third-party technology risk
  • Design, develop, and continuously improve the third-party technology risk program
  • Direct oversight and credible challenge of third-party risk assessments, inherent risk tiering, due diligence, residual risk conclusions, exceptions, and risk acceptance decisions
  • Own technology key risk indicators, vendor risk ratings, scorecards, and executive reporting
  • Interpret threshold breaches, direct root-cause analysis, and drive time-bound remediation and demonstrated risk reduction
  • Serve as senior Technology Risk point of contact for regulatory examinations, Internal Audit, and Independent Risk Management reviews
  • Translate supervisory developments into program and control requirements
  • Build executive partnerships across third-party management, Technology, Information Security, Resilience, Supply Chain, Legal, Risk Management, and Internal Audit
  • Influence contract, renewal, investment, contingency, and exit decisions using documented risk exposure
  • Manage, develop, and retain technology risk professionals
  • Establish governance processes, risk-based oversight plans, analysis standards, and credible challenge practices
  • Direct complex risk identification and assessment efforts involving emerging technologies, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional exposures
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior technology leadership
  • Oversee risk reporting, metrics, analytics, mitigation strategies, and control improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University/college degree typically required; Bachelor's education listed
  • 8+ years of industry-relevant experience typically required
  • At least 5 years of prior management experience typically required
  • Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility required
  • Comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience, including military service, may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Knowledge of third-party risk management, strategic planning, risk management programs, regulatory compliance, information security, key risk indicators, cloud governance, and credible challenge
  • No required certifications

  • Must not require employment visa sponsorship; PNC will not participate in STEM OPT
