About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage multiple development projects, development groups, and/or application support functions for a major business segment
  • Oversee development and implementation of multiple complex, organization-wide systems
  • Allocate and ensure resources throughout the application development life cycle
  • Maintain client relationships to ensure application system implementation quality
  • Provide solutions or recommendations on complicated technology issues for application development and implementation
  • Provide technical leadership in production support
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex production issues
  • Guide troubleshooting across applications, Linux/Windows infrastructure, Oracle and SQL databases, middleware, and integrations
  • Ensure efficient log, metric, and system analysis
  • Oversee batch/ETL monitoring and recovery processes
  • Collaborate across engineering, infrastructure, and vendor teams
  • Drive customer-centric service improvements and proactive reliability practices
  • Enhance monitoring and observability capabilities
  • Promote a blameless culture of continuous learning
  • Reduce operational toil through automation
  • Provide after-hours operational leadership and on-call support, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Participate in an on-call leadership rotation supporting critical production services, major incidents, high-severity customer-impacting events, change events, escalations, and business continuity needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Typically 8+ years of industry-relevant experience
  • At least 5 years of prior management experience typically required
  • Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility
  • Comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience, including military service, may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Knowledge of application development, business management, customer solutions, design, process improvements, release management, software solutions, and UX design
  • Knowledge of application delivery processes, client/server and object-oriented application development, application development tools, application localization and internationalization, IT environments, and software process improvement
  • No required certifications or licenses
  • No required or preferred language assessments
  • Must be able to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship; PNC will not provide sponsorship or participate in STEM OPT
