About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead development and execution of category strategies aligned with enterprise objectives
- Drive complex RFx events from ideation through contract execution
- Act as a subject matter expert and advise senior stakeholders on sourcing decisions
- Identify and implement innovative sourcing solutions and operational improvements
- Liaise between business units and Supply Chain Management
- Lead steering committees and governance forums
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Negotiate high-value, complex contracts
- Oversee contract lifecycle management, renewals, and pipeline prioritization
- Manage multiple strategic projects across diverse business areas
- Present insights and recommendations to executive leadership
- Research, evaluate, negotiate, and select suppliers
- Request and review highly complex vendor proposals
- Prepare supplier strategies, deal strategies, financial analyses, category strategies, and other sourcing artifacts
- Develop and monitor purchasing strategies and initiate departmental improvements
- Manage risks in accordance with PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework
Requirements
What you’ll need- University/college degree typically required
- 5+ years of industry-relevant experience
- Comparable combination of education, job-specific certification(s), and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively at all organizational levels, including executive leadership
- Proficiency with ERP, Source-to-Pay (S2P) systems, including Ariba preferred, and risk management tools
- Deep understanding of financial services industry products and services
- Advanced experience sourcing technology solutions, including software, SaaS, infrastructure, and network services
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills with a track record of delivering measurable results
- Knowledge of procurement, purchasing management, sourcing strategies, supplier management, supplier selection, vendor relationships, and vendor risk management
- No required certifications
