About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete a six-month, hands-on Management in Training—Operations program in a distribution warehouse
- Receive training and perform duties in Operations, Management, and Purchasing areas of the distribution center
- Observe experienced employees to learn methods, procedures, and performance standards
- Shadow contractors/builders, service/maintenance customers, and retail store customers
- Participate in classroom training at the EDGEucation Center in Plano, Texas, covering operations, financials, leadership, human capital management, and operating systems
- Deliver a comprehensive presentation to senior-level management at the end of the six-month program
- Perform other duties and special operations projects as assigned
- After training completion in May, relocate out of state with company-provided assistance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or Associate’s degree in Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Management, Operations or another related discipline
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Work experience in a leadership and/or problem-solving role, or qualifying distribution/supply-chain internships, organizations/clubs, volunteer work/community service, athletics or military leadership in lieu of work experience
- Desire and ability to work in a distribution warehouse environment
- Ability to lead and develop a team amid rapidly changing priorities
- Motivated, passionate, customer-service-driven attitude
- Willingness and ability to relocate during and after the program for career development opportunities
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
- Ability to maneuver heavy machinery, including pallet jacks and forklifts
- Ability to lift products up to 75 pounds
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn inventory systems and additional software
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background verifications for external candidates
