About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete a six-month, hands-on Management in Training - Operations program in a distribution warehouse
- Receive training and perform duties across Operations, Management, and Purchasing
- Observe experienced employees to learn methods, procedures, and performance standards
- Shadow contractors/builders, service/maintenance, and retail store customers to learn the swimming pool, irrigation, and landscaping business
- Participate in classroom training at the EDGEucation Center in Plano, Texas covering operations, financials, leadership, human capital management, and operating systems
- Present comprehensively to senior-level management at the end of the six-month program
- Perform other job duties and special operations projects as assigned
- Apply for Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager roles after completing the program
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or Associate’s degree in Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Management, Operations or another related discipline
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Work experience in a leadership and/or problem solving role
- Desire and ability to work in a distribution warehouse environment
- Ability to lead and develop a team with rapidly changing priorities
- Strong leadership skills
- Motivated, passionate, customer service driven attitude
- Willingness and ability to relocate during and after the program for career development opportunities
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
- Ability to maneuver heavy machinery, such as pallet jacks and forklifts
- Ability to lift products up to 75 pounds
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn inventory systems and additional software
- External employment offers contingent upon successful pre-employment drug testing and background verifications
