About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead discovery, scoping, solution design, and estimation for integration engagements
- Engage directly with customers across pre-sales and delivery
- Build trusted-advisor relationships and translate business problems into platform-native solutions
- Facilitate customer workshops, architecture reviews, whiteboarding sessions, and executive presentations
- Own Solutions Design Documents, ADRs, estimates, and definition-of-done criteria
- Provide architectural guidance across the integration lifecycle from intake through go-live and handover
- Design using fixed-price-engineering patterns, reusable connectors, and configuration over custom code
- Enforce ORCA contract fidelity and platform conventions across implementations
- Contribute findings and standards through the Architecture Review Council
- Validate scope, requirements, and estimates before delivery commitments
- Mentor and coach PortX and customer development teams
- Convert engagement work into reusable connectors, templates, mappings, patterns, or playbooks
- Use AI tooling for code generation, spec-driven scaffolding, automated conformance scoring, and documentation generation
- Drive continuous improvement across integration patterns, delivery methodology, estimation models, tooling, and documentation
- Lead hands-on problem solving through spikes, reference implementations, and rescue work when needed
- Ensure engagements ship on templated/FPE patterns with no unreviewed bespoke code
- Enable delivery squads to handle standard integrations without SA escalation
- Improve estimation accuracy through repeatable units of work
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong enterprise integration consulting and implementation experience, including APIs, event-driven architecture, and integration platforms/iPaaS
- Experience leading customer engagements
- Customer-facing skills in discovery, workshop facilitation, estimation, executive communication, and commercial scope management
- Ability to read and review code, review PRs, and prototype
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering, including code generation, agentic tooling, and spec-to-code workflows
- Working knowledge of containerization, Kubernetes/GitOps-style deployment, and AWS
- Experience with OpenAPI-first design, consuming and specifying web services, Git, and standard build tooling
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
- Highly organized, with strong prioritization and time management skills
- Flexible and responsive, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and tight deadlines
- Confident, customer-facing presence with the ability to build trust and engagement
- US Citizenship required
- No visa sponsorship available
- Banking, credit union, or payments domain experience strongly preferred
- Experience productizing services delivery, including templates, SDKs, connector libraries, and fixed-price packaging, strongly preferred
- Experience standing up or operating architecture governance, including review boards, ADR practice, and conformance standards, strongly preferred
