About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as a proactive, ongoing technical advisor to customers on server configurations, architectures, technical strategy, and best practices for open source data science at scale
Collaborate with sales and customer success to help customers realize the full value of their Posit environment
Scale customer reach through webinars, talks, workshops, documentation, automation, and how-to materials
Lead scoped, project-based implementation work from onboarding through delivery of defined outcomes
Provide the voice of the customer to Product Management and Product Engineering
Improve team processes and workflows
Influence product direction with Product Management and engineering teams
Navigate technical post-sales customer calls and lead customer discussions
Explain how Posit’s Pro Products are installed, configured, and used by Data Scientists
Help IT/Admin customers determine suitable product architectures and deployment patterns
Configure Posit’s Pro Products and participate in IT architecture and post-sales calls
Help customers integrate Posit’s Pro Products into existing data and technology stacks
Support customers installing and maintaining products by reviewing and advising on environment configuration
Contribute to projects of increasing size and scope
Take on larger, more strategic, higher-touch customer engagements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Customer-facing technical post-sales experience
Exposure to server infrastructure and architecture topics, including cloud services, Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, Slurm, authentication, and connecting to data sources
Interest in learning enterprise infrastructure, system administration, networking, virtualization, and integrations with data science tools and platforms
Understanding of data science workflows and use cases, including exploratory data analysis, modeling, reporting, and app development
Ability to discuss technical topics with internal and external audiences at different levels
Ability to explain installation and configuration of Posit’s Pro Products
Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure and product architecture
Ability to advise IT/Admin teams on product architectures and deployment patterns
Strong empathy, curiosity, clarity of thinking, and willingness to learn
No specific prior data science or professional product experience required; such experience may be helpful
Posit states strong candidates generally have prior experience with approximately half of the listed areas
