About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary technical authority for building the Private Cloud Platform
- Design and assume technical ownership of the end-to-end architecture of the Private Cloud Platform
- Define the platform’s Kubernetes, virtualization, and hyperconverged infrastructure architecture
- Architect Ceph-based distributed storage, including replication, resilience, and performance tuning
- Design high-availability and multi-site topologies, as well as Disaster Recovery strategies (RPO/RTO)
- Define security, identity management, multi-tenant isolation, and compliance standards for isolated environments
- Establish Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and observability standards
- Provide technical support to the engineering team by reviewing solutions and promoting best practices
- Evaluate technologies, vendors, and solutions within the cloud-native ecosystem
- Integrate infrastructure, virtualization, Kubernetes, distributed storage, networking, security, observability, and automation
- Make technical decisions and provide technical leadership in building a critical, large-scale environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education qualification
- Strong, comprehensive experience in infrastructure, networking, and enterprise Linux systems
- Proven experience designing, deploying, and supporting Kubernetes clusters and Private Cloud/HCI architectures in large-scale production environments
- Advanced Kubernetes architecture (APIs, Control Plane, Workers, CNI/CSI)
- Container-based virtualization using KVM/QEMU, KubeVirt, Harvester HCI, or OpenShift Virtualization (Live Migration, CDI, virtio-win)
- Provisioning, synchronous/asynchronous replication, resilience, and performance tuning in Ceph (RBD, CephFS, RGW)
- Linux Bridges, Bonds (LACP 802.3ad), VLANs 802.1Q, SDN/Overlay networks (Calico, Cilium, Canal, OVN-Kubernetes), and L4/L7 load balancing (Keepalived, HAProxy, NGINX)
- Advanced administration of enterprise Linux (RHEL, SLE Micro, Ubuntu Server) and bare-metal deployment (PXE, iPXE, Ignition, Cloud-Init)
- RBAC, multi-tenant isolation, identity integration (Keycloak, Dex, LDAP/AD, SAML/OIDC), and security policies for air-gapped/FIPS environments
- Multi-site topologies, etcd/storage quorum, immutable backups, and RPO/RTO testing
- Terraform/OpenTofu, Ansible, Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, and Loki/EFK
- Preferred: SUSE Rancher Prime, RKE2, Harvester, Red Hat OpenShift, Longhorn, CloudNativePG, Crunchy Data, Strimzi, Knative, Istio, Vault, External Secrets Operator, Argo CD, FluxCD, F5 BIG-IP, FortiADC
- Preferred: CKA, CKAD, CKS, Red Hat Certified Architect/Specialist (EX280/EX318), or SUSE (SCA/SCE) certifications
- Preferred: Experience with mission-critical projects, data sovereignty, or government-sector environments
