Initiate and develop ideas for enterprise stories and investigative projects
Cultivate sources and establish expertise to break stories and set the news agenda
File video clips for digital platforms
Work with digital teams to create interactive maps and graphics, searchable databases, and other multimedia elements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Previous experience at a news organization
Fluency in digital platforms, multimedia journalism and social media
Ability to work quickly and independently, meet multiple deadlines, and make efficient decisions
Familiarity with data journalism and investigative reporting an asset
Strong understanding of issues, industries and attributes unique to Cape Breton
Ability to work remotely as part of a newsroom team
Possess a valid driver’s licence and vehicle
Cover letter, résumé, three samples of published work (if any), and at least two signed references
