  • Flexibly juggle assignments and generate ideas to attract and retain readers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience at a news organization in a deadline-oriented reporting/writing role
  • Fluency in digital platforms, multimedia journalism and social media
  • Ability to work quickly and independently, meet multiple deadlines, and make efficient decisions
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a newsroom team
  • Ability to cover events in person as needed within St. John's
  • Knowledge and experience filing access to information requests considered an asset
  • Strong phone skills
  • Familiarity with newsletters, SEO, web best practices and WordPress considered a bonus; support and training provided
