About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the product definition and roadmap for grid-facing control functions of Unity PPC for PV, BESS and PV+BESS hybrid plants
- Define active power, frequency response, voltage and reactive power, POI performance, multi-vendor coordination, grid-forming BESS and system interfaces
- Interpret and track grid-code requirements across global markets
- Own the global compliance status register and prioritize product gaps
- Decide certification strategy, oversee certification timelines and TSO submissions
- Define compliance test procedures and witness key tests on site and in the lab
- Serve as the product voice on grid compliance for customers, EPCs and TSOs
- Own the certified PowerFactory, PSSE, PSCAD and PSLF model library and model quality methodology
- Lead product-level model submissions and responses to TSO review comments
- Evolve validation strategy, test suites and evidence formats
- Own the roadmap for automated HIL and regression testing of PPC functions
- Work directly in the HIL/RTDS environment to investigate behavior, reproduce issues and test prototypes
- Package test reports and validation certificates for TSO submissions, RFPs and lender due diligence
- Develop grid integration automation, commissioning and testing tooling, and field feedback loops
- Define and prototype control diagnostics, anomaly detection, parameter tuning and grid-code analysis tools
- Join complex grid-event investigations and turn findings into product and validation changes
- Travel for key lighthouse-project compliance tests, strategic TSO meetings and customer workshops as needed
- Set strategy, roadmap, business cases, requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and product metrics
- Conduct competitive analysis, customer discovery, regulatory research, interviews, pilots and design-partner programmes
- Support RFPs, customer workshops and lender due diligence with positioning, technical collateral and battle cards
- Plan capability launches and shape partnerships with inverter and PCS OEMs, HIL/RTDS providers and certification bodies
- Collaborate with product management, control engineering, power-system modelling, validation, software, UX, project, delivery, presales, sales, partnerships, customers, EPCs, TSOs and lenders
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years in power plant control or grid integration for utility-scale PV, BESS, wind or hybrid plants
- Hands-on experience in the design, tuning, testing or commissioning of power plant controllers
- Proven experience with grid code compliance, compliance testing and TSO interconnection processes, ideally across multiple markets
- Deep understanding of grid dynamics, inverter control, and frequency and voltage regulation
- Working knowledge of at least two of PowerFactory, PSSE, PSCAD, PSLF
- Experience owning technical requirements or influencing product decisions as a senior engineer, technical lead or product manager
- Strong customer-facing experience with asset owners, EPCs or TSOs
- Fluent English
- Python, data analysis or AI tools for prototyping is a strong advantage
- HIL/RTDS, automated testing or validation experience is a strong advantage
- BESS control experience is a strong advantage
- Product management experience in energy, industrial automation or OT software is a strong advantage
