About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Profitably quote and manage projects, including scope, cost, and schedules, for the Solutions Group
- Work on custom control panels, assemblies, component modifications, turnkey solutions, programming, and startup assistance
- Assist sales staff, specialists, and Solutions Coordinators
- Design, document, and implement Solutions assemblies, electrical control systems, control panels, and general automation projects
- Travel to job sites for project evaluation, installations, and service calls
- Create bills of material and assist with cross-referencing bills of materials
- Assist customers and outside sales staff with project quoting and labor estimates
- Develop strong relationships with integrator partners
- Conduct project meetings, ensure progress, and communicate project issues to Power/mation management
- Manage multiple projects through successful completion
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of Industrial Controls experience in either an Engineering or Project Management role
- Technical degree in Industrial Engineering, Controls, or Robotics preferred; equivalent experience can be substituted for the degree requirement
- Previous consulting experience, sales experience or customer service experience desirable
- Ability to manage multiple aspects of small to mid-sized projects from conception to implementation
- Effective writing skills to establish engineering processes and procedures
- Ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with frequently changing priorities
- Ability to travel as needed, approximately 1x a quarter
- 2+ years of experience with motion control, programmable logic controllers, and motor control design and programming
- Understanding of engineering control systems and electrical standards
- Knowledge of automation products to design and program customer solutions
- Ability to work closely and efficiently with customers, vendors, and internal resources
- Excellent sales and relationship-building skills
- Ability to develop and maintain key account relationships
- Effective communication, listening, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Good judgment and decision-making skills to handle customer inquiries
