About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Diagnose and resolve technical issues in customer Prefect and Dagster environments
Own customer issues through resolution and remain the single point of contact during escalations
Troubleshoot installations, integrations, deployments, cloud environments, containers, and Kubernetes
Identify underlying root causes and provide evidence-based diagnoses
Create documentation, debugging resources, and tooling to prevent repeat support requests
Clearly communicate scope-of-support boundaries and provide customers with a way forward
Provide regular customer updates and close the loop on escalated issues
File reproducible product issues and surface recurring failure patterns to Engineering and Product
Independently work the support queue and own moderate-complexity problems end to end
Participate in a 9am–5pm Pacific coverage schedule and shared on-call rotation
Contribute code and consultative work as agent tooling absorbs routine support tasks

Requirements

What you’ll need

Python fluency at the level of reading and debugging someone else's code
Hands-on experience running workloads in at least one major cloud and in containers or Kubernetes
Experience with a workflow orchestrator (Prefect, Dagster, Airflow, or comparable)
Strong interest in the data engineering space
Track record of technical, customer-facing work: support, solutions engineering, developer relations, or similar
Clear written communication to explain a root cause to a skeptical senior engineer and earn their trust
Direct experience with Prefect or Dagster specifically (nice to have)
History of open-source contribution (nice to have)
SQL and data warehouse familiarity (nice to have)
Experience building support tooling or automation (nice to have)
Authorization to work in the United States
Must answer whether visa sponsorship is required
