About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide legal support and day-to-day contracting services for Premier’s technology and consulting divisions
  • Serve as a primary legal contact for internal business clients
  • Draft, negotiate, review and approve master services, software, licensing, information security, data use, consulting, confidentiality and business associate agreements
  • Conduct training sessions for business units on relevant legal matters
  • Counsel business teams on healthcare regulatory compliance, data privacy and security
  • Independently handle moderately to highly complex legal matters
  • Own day-to-day assignments and support legal projects
  • Provide clear, actionable and timely legal guidance to business, sales and product development teams and senior management
  • Interact with senior management, customers and their counsel, suppliers, business partners and outside counsel
  • Assist corporate counsel with contractual and regulatory issues
  • Research legal issues and monitor regulatory guidance, case law and court opinions
  • Assist senior legal leaders with transactional matters, special projects and governmental/media relations matters

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7 or more years of applicable experience
  • Juris Doctorate (Required)
  • Active member of a state bar
  • Ability to work independently and accurately under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, sound judgement, and ability to work collaboratively
  • Superior analytical and writing skills, with business and financial acumen
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial contract law and corporate law
  • At least 7 years of transactional experience in drafting and reviewing commercial agreements and negotiating contracts
  • Healthcare transactional and regulatory experience
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, the HITECH Act and Anti-Kickback Statute
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Ability to operate computer programs and software
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and electronically
  • Ability to make independent decisions and work in a collaborative business environment
  • Willingness/ability to travel 1–20% within the US
