About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the foodservice contracting life cycle, from contract negotiation through vendor management and renewals
- Manage marketing support, RFI/RFP/RFQ/bid packages, terms and conditions, price negotiation, vendor management and renewals
- Implement and manage control policies, procedures, quality control measures and key performance indicators
- Develop engagement strategies and metrics for contracted suppliers
- Create and present category analysis to the Foodservice Committee for contract awards
- Provide membership support on open questions and opportunities
- Manage ongoing category performance, including identifying contract coverage opportunities, monitoring industry trends and ensuring compliance with contracted price change terms
- Develop and manage project workplans, timelines, resources and milestones
- Prioritize team efforts, coach team members, delegate responsibilities and review work for accuracy
- Develop project status reports and manage project information
- Identify and resolve project issues and manage client expectations
- Participate in Product Planning and Contract Management sourcing meetings
- Develop sourcing and negotiation strategies for product categories and suppliers
- Communicate with suppliers and monitor RFPs, member analysis and negotiation meetings
- Review supplier-requested terms and conditions changes
- Develop negotiation meeting materials and conduct simple and complex supplier negotiation meetings
- Build recommendations for final contract awards and present them to cross-functional teams
- Review savings analyses, coordinate final contracts and assist with Contract Launch Plans
- Provide developmental feedback, resolve employee issues, provide counseling and participate in training
- Implement quality standards, evaluate delivery and supervise process and technology improvement initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5 or more years of applicable experience
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Experience in foodservice operations, administration, marketing, purchasing/category management, and/or sales with strong product knowledge
- Contract/account management in with diverse and vast contracts
- Demonstrated analytical experience managing and interpreting contract related data (large data sets) and presenting results
