About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Learn the team’s domain and codebase while shipping small, real tasks from the team roadmap
- Define an AI project brief with a dedicated mentor, covering the problem, rationale for using AI, success metric, and milestones
- Execute the AI project alongside regular team roadmap work
- Deliver a meaningful, measurable result in production by approximately month 5.5
- Present project results to a committee of Preply directors and the CTO at Demo Day
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3rd–6th year university student in a technical field such as mathematics, computer science, or physics, or a recent graduate, or up to 2 years of work experience
- Working knowledge of at least one programming language: Python, Java, Go, JavaScript, or similar
- English proficiency at B2 or above
- AI-native approach, using coding agents, LLM APIs, and AI-first workflows
- Wins or strong results in olympiads, AI/informatics competitions, or hackathons
- Open source contributions or a portfolio of shipped personal projects
- Based in Ukraine
- Able to commit to a 28–40-hour-per-week internship, ideally full-time
