About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify, prospect, and close new custom apparel accounts among cycling clubs, race teams, event organizers, bike shops, and corporate partners within the territory
- Consult customers on fabric, fit, pricing, and design options based on their identity, budget, and timeline
- Build lasting relationships with team captains, club officers, event directors, and corporate buyers
- Develop and execute a territory plan balancing new account acquisition with recurring custom orders
- Travel approximately 40% to visit clients and attend races, events, expos, trade shows, and group rides
- Collaborate with the account management team to keep custom orders accurate, on schedule, and aligned with customer expectations
- Maintain accurate pipeline and order data and provide regular forecasts to sales leadership
- Attend cycling community events to build relationships and identify new opportunities
- Own the sales cycle through prospecting, consulting, quoting, closing, and nurturing repeat business
Requirements
What you’ll need- Genuine passion for cycling and familiarity with cycling culture, clubs, and the race and event calendar
- Proven track record of prospecting and closing new business
- Experience managing a consultative, multi-step sales process
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Comfort with a travel-heavy schedule of approximately 40%, including weekends for events, group rides, and trade shows
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated and organized; able to manage a territory and pipeline independently while hitting targets
- Proficiency with CRM tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel domestically and internationally if applicable
- Exceptional customer relationship-building and communication skills
- Ability to understand customer needs, present solutions, and develop long-term partnerships
- Proactive customer contact and growth opportunity identification
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an in-office environment
- Organized, dependable, and able to balance travel, customer engagement, follow-up, and internal coordination
- Ability to work closely with Customer Account Specialists and other departments
- Existing cycling-industry relationships preferred
- Experience selling custom or team-dealer apparel preferred
