About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Edit and proofread medical communications materials, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide decks, digital materials and PDFs
  • Review grammar, spelling, punctuation, style and formatting
  • Develop and maintain editorial style guides and ensure deliverables comply
  • Apply tracked changes and provide clear, effective editorial feedback
  • Perform quality control reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Act as a senior point of contact for complex editorial queries and style decisions
  • Collaborate with scientific and client services teams to support project delivery
  • Help coordinate editorial workload and resource planning across projects
  • Support editorial best practices, processes and quality standards
  • Mentor and coach junior editors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3-year editing experience in medical communications
  • Life sciences degree required
  • Previous editing experience, ideally within medical communications, healthcare or scientific publishing
  • Exceptional written English, grammar and attention to detail
  • Strong copy-editing, proofreading and quality control skills
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience providing feedback, mentoring or supporting the development of colleagues
  • Confidence working across multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Advanced proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Endnote and SharePoint
  • Experience using tracked changes, digital markup tools and style guides
  • A collaborative approach and passion for delivering high-quality work
